Some  have the same name, are the same size & were painted in the same year so we often use Daniel Wildenstein's numbering system published in his “Claude  Monet, biographie et catalogue raisonne”, four volumes, Lausanne & Paris, 1974-1985. The format we use is: “W 733”. Variations used by others include: W733; W. 733; and Wildenstein II. 733. (Roman numeral indicates book volume).
